What comes to mind is that there needs to be more funding for these positions and hence a more appropriate salary.
Why is it that those who serve the littlest, the least, the most needy, not only in legal affairs, but also in education and medical fields are paid the least?
Not to dismiss the fact that many people are willing to sacrifice a lot to help these people--I have a physician friend who works in a clinic for jist such ideals). But really, more funding is needed.
